RANGE RULES
- All persons participating in a shooting activity are required to have on their person a current membership card visible for inspection. Guests should be accompanied by a current member.
- All shooters are responsible to insure that their firearms are safe and in good working order and they have familiarized themselves with the club and range rules and are expected to follow the commands of the range officer in charge.
- The hours of operation for all ranges are from sunrise to sunset.
- All uncased firearms when not being fired must be visible, empty of ammunition and with actions open. All loaded firearms will be pointed down range and at the target area. Open bolt indicators will be used during hi power matches.
- Shooters who have finished firing should make certain that their firearm is not loaded and made safe by removing any and all ammunition before leaving their position on the firing line.
- No one is permitted to handle an uncased firearm with the action closed until that individual is on the firing line and then only after the range is determined to be clear and safe to shoot and o command of the range officer.
- Improper or unsafe behavior, or any improper use of a firearm is not permitted. The muzzle of any firearm must not be permitted to point to anyone at any time.
- Firing will be permitted only at prescribed targets for the range or special events. Plinking at bottles or cans is not permitted on any range.
- It is required that ear and eye protection devices be worn by all shooters when shooting is in progress. It is recommended that all persons on the firing line wear ear and eye protection. It is also recommended that all persons in the pits, while firing is in progress, wear ear and eye protection.
- In the event of a misfire, the shooter will remain in position with the firearm pointed at the target area. The action will remain closed for at least 30 seconds before the round is extracted and disposed of safely.
- Containers for the proper disposal of trash have been provided. It is expected that each club member will be conscientious in keeping the club site clean and litter free. Each shooter is responsible to clean up all trash, empty shells, etc. and deposit them in the containers present. Please police your brass.
- All members and guests engaging in a shooting activity must sign the register located at the picnic area before shooting. Each entry will state the name, date, time and number of guests for each member.
- All alcoholic beverages are prohibited while firearms are in use and or uncased. It is unsafe for anyone who has been drinking to handle a firearm.
- All types of tracer and armor piercing bullets are prohibited.
- Lead picking at the target area is prohibited.
- The red flag will be displayed when anyone engages in shooting on the Hi-Power range and or the pistol range located behind the target area. A red flag is located at the 600 yard firing line. When shooting is completed the red flag will be lowered and returned to its container. It is also required that anyone firing anywhere on the range, must check for personel in the pit area before shooting.
- No one will cause or encourage damage to any part or portion of the range, its target holders or other structure(s) on the property.
- A member may bring up to three (3) guests at any one time and is responsible for seeing that the guests comply with the Range Rules. See membership rules.
- Driving on the firing line mounds is not permitted!
- All firing must be done into an approved impact area. No shooting from the campground.
